Upgrading

Upgrades are in-place: install the new version over your existing installation. Your data directory is never touched — projects, users, runs and settings are preserved.

Before you upgrade

  1. Create a backup (see Backup & Restore)
  2. Note your current version (shown on the dashboard / /api/health)

Steps

  1. Download the new installer from the Downloads page
  2. Run it over your existing install — the installer stops the service, replaces files, and restarts it
  3. Database migrations apply automatically on first boot (this can take a few minutes)
  4. Runner agents are version-gated — after a minor/major upgrade, re-download agents from your server
If an upgrade fails, the service keeps restarting with the previous data intact — restore the backup and contact support.
